Morris (Mike) Markowitz of New Port Richey, Florida, (formerly of Bronx, NY), born 2/9/23 passed away on October 31, 2013 at the age of 90, leaving his heartbroken family and many friends, especially his lifelong friend, since birth, Metty Kavadlo of Miami, Fl. Mike is survived by his 3 daughters, Elaine M. Conwell (Raymond) of Thornwood, NY, Laura M. Saiz (Joaquin) of New City, NY and Carole A. Lunapiena (John) of Hawthorne, NY. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret Donnelly Markowitz and 2 sons Daniel (Fran) and Michael. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Mike was a Train Master with the NYC Transit Authority for many years and The N.Y. Daily News. He was a Veteran of WWII as a replacement with Merrill's Marauders and was awarded the Purple Heart. Mike could fix anything and always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved playing cards with his buddies. His passing has devastated his family and friends. Services will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Pleasantville, NY, on Tuesday, Nov. 5th from 2pm to 9pm and 10am Wednesday Nov. 6th at Beecher's. Internment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
