Phyllis Ann (Pangallo) Del Tosto, 69, of Upper Arlington, OH, a kind and caring woman, loved by many, passed away 11/20/2012, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Phyllis was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born Sept. 25, 1943 to the late Joseph and Assunda Belmonte Pangallo of Port Chester, NY. She is survived by Joseph, her loving and devoted husband of 49 years; three sons, Joseph Del Tosto, Jr. (Judy) of Landenberg, PA, David Del Tosto (Lea) of Tampa, FL, and Mark Del Tosto (Amira) of Upper Arlington; six grandchildren, Christopher, Dominick, Matthew, Antonio Joseph (AJ), Sophia and Isabella; three sisters, Marie Pangallo of Dublin, OH, Gloria LaDestro (Philip), and Joanne Sileo (Peter) of Rye Brook, NY; sister-in-law, Santa Coperine and brother-in-law, William Del Tosto, both of Greenwich, and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis worked in Human Resources at Compuserve and later WorldCom for 18 years and retired from Ohio Health. She was a Port Chester High School graduate, a National Honor Society member and a New York State Regents Scholarship recipient. She later graduated from Westchester Business School (NY) and attended Franklin University.
Phyllis was a very active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Phyllis was an avid runner, and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her many good friends, and will be dearly missed. Entombment was held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Powell, Ohio.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester, NY on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 12 noon.
Phyllis' family would like to thank the many good friends and caregivers who offered support and many acts of kindness during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus OH 43214.
