Vivian Joye Roth, a longtime resident of Port Chester passed away at the age of 90 on July 4, 2014. Vivian was born on May 24, 1924 in Greenwich, Connecticut, raised by Paddy and Caroline Joye. She graduated from Greenwich High School and shortly after began her first position at Franklin Simons department store in Greenwich, Connecticut. She then commuted to New York City where she worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and finally as a window dresser for Barricini Candies before marrying the love of her life Walter C. Roth on October 27, 1951 at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. When her husband founded Roth Nursery with his brother Edward in 1948 in Armonk, N.Y., Vivian managed the bookkeeping for the growing business. Vivian and Walter began their family with 5 children, which continues to grow with 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She fulfilled her dream of having a large family whom she guided with love and strength. She was a member of the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Rye Brook, NY. Mrs. Vivian Roth is survived by her children Walter C. Roth and wife Suzanne, Thomas W. Roth and wife Diane, Karl D. Roth, Patricia J. Quell and husband Frederick, Karen G. Hodge and husband Cliff; grandchildren, Monica and husband Daniel, Walter III and wife Roxanne, Kristin and husband Michael, Cynthia, Kimberly, Holly, Thomas, Jason and Kara; great grandchildren Amelia, Oliver and Aurora. She was predeceased by her husband Walter C. Roth in 2011.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Monday July 7, 2014 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be 10AM Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church 761 King St. at Comley Ave. Rye Brook, NY 10573. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery Rye, NY. Family condolences can be sent to the home of Vivian Roth. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.
