Duffy, Sr., Patrick J.

Patrick J. Duffy, Sr., a long time resident of Stony Point, peacefully passed away September 17, 2011 surrounded by his loving family after 84 blessed years. Son of the late Arthur J. and Mary Matthews Duffy, he was the youngest of five children born on July 29, 1927 in Bronx NY. On November 1, 1947 he married Sylvia M. Milanese Duffy, who survives at home. Patrick attended schools in the Bronx and proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He also devoted 42 years to Con Edison. Patrick was keenly interested in politics and closely followed the machinations of the stock market.

In addition to Sylvia, the love of his life for 64 years, he is the proud father of three sons, Patrick J. Duffy, Jr. (Deceased, 1991), John A. Duffy and his wife, Coleen of Bloomingburg, NY and Robert J. Duffy of Stony Point, NY. He was "Pop" to his grandchildren, Dorothy Haffcke and her husband Phil, Kristina Herritt and her husband Ron, Diana Musick and her husband Mike, Erin Idsall and her husband Mark, Ryan Duffy and his wife Jacquelyn, Sean Duffy and his wife, Kailee, Brianne McGinnis and her husband, Andy, Cori Duffy and her partner Kyle Norton, Kaci Duffy and her fiance, Joel Peterson, and great-grandchildren, Shae, Aaron, Mackenzie, Peyton, James, Kamerin, Austin, Emma, Landon, and Chloe. He was also a loving and supportive uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Malara, Margaret Magistro, Arthur Duffy, Jr. and Elizabeth Geraci.

Patrick was a loving husband, a caring father, a nurturing grandfather and a sincere friend to all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 7-9 on Thursday, September 22, 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, September 23 at Finn Edward C. Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., Stony Point, NY 10980. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am on Saturday, September 24 at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, NY. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patrick's memory may be made to The , P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 and the United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stockum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
