Cote', Paul

Paul Cote', beloved son, husband, brother, cousin and friend, died February 16, 2012, following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family, at Westchester Medical Center. He was 56 years old.

Son of Donald and Doris Cote', Paul was born May 29, 1955 in Suffern, NY. He graduated from Nanuet High School in 1973 and from St. Thomas Aquinas in 1977. He worked for Pathmark grocery store for 39 years. Paul was an avid sports fan - a New York Jets season ticket holder for 8 years, a Mets fan, and a Devils fan. In 1994, his life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Eileen Riggio. They married in 1998 and had a blissful 13 years together. Paul was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews, taking delight in giving them gifts, the bigger the better. Everyone in the family had a soft spot for Paul because he was so mild-mannered and gentle and kind. He was truly devoted to his family and was dependable to a fault. His absence leaves a tremendous gap in our lives.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Cote' at home; his mother, Doris Cote' of Pearl River, NY; his brother, Marc and wife Terry of Cornwall, NY; his brother, Todd and wife Helen of Central Valley, NY; his sister, Megan and husband Chris Baer of Monroe, NY; sister-in-law, Kathy and husband Frank LeRoy of Stony Point, NY; brother-in-law, Bob Riggio of Garnerville, NY; nephews, Andy, Peter, Alex and Brendan Cote', Doug and Brian Baer, John Coulter and wife Kristie, Robert Riggio and wife Michele, Daniel and Michael Riggio and Brandon Roberts; nieces, Shannon, Allison and Katie Cote', Kellie and Sophie Baer, Tracy Cataldo and husband Joe, Diana Rogers and husband Tom; his godmother and aunt, Jeanne Schlemmer and his aunt, Joan Conklin; and many loving cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Cote'.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses helping Paul at Westchester Medical Center for their outstanding care and compassion.
