Frances Colangelo Obituary
Frances Colangelo (nee Avena) of Yonkers died on Wednesday, May 16th at age 90. Born on October 23, 1921 to Vito and Sylvia (Gennatasio) Avena in Italy (Qual iETA). She attended New York City Schools and at age 62 received her "Associate Degree" from Elizabeth Seton College. Frances was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a member of Tops Organization, also Parents Without Partners (PWP). She enjoyed acting and was a former member of both the St. Mary's and Sacred Heart Players. Her husband Daniel predeceased her in 1972. Frances is survived by her four children; Daniel Colangelo of Hartsdale, Linda Mock of Red Bank, N.J., Patricia Smith of White Plains, Susan Bond of Mohegan Lake and her Sister-in-Law Margherita Macchia. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, she was predeceased by her Sister Geraldine Sollicito and two brothers Rocco and Vito Avena. Visiting will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery.

I remember Frances as a child. My mother Arlene Flower was a member of TOPS. She was always so full of life and had a great sense of humor... Prayers to you and your family.
