Servidio, Nicholas V.

Nicholas Vincent Servidio, 88, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Saturday March 30, 2013 after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Rose Rostanzo Servidio. Mr. Servidio was a truck driver for the Amor Contracting Company and a member of Teamsters Local 456. He was also a member of the Frank A. Rea Post 1163 of the American Legion. He served his country proudly from March 11, 1943 to December 7, 1945. He received the American Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with arrowhead and the Distinguished Unit Badge Army Sept. 22, 1944. "He was the greatest uncle anyone could have; he had a huge heart and was always there to lend a hand and help you anyway he could." He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and relatives. He would always tell you "I had a good life. I did it all and I have a family that loves me". He was predeceased by one sister, Nancy DiBernardino and three brothers, Vincent, Salvatore and John Servidio. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday April 2nd at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
