'Bette" Malice-Kriessler of Palmetto, Florida, formerly of Nyack, passed suddenly on March 25, 2013. Bette was born on Oct. 20, 1925 to William and Flore Thomas in Boston, MA and spent her younger years in Port Clyde, Nova Scotia before returning to Quincy, MA.
She moved to Nyack in 1955 and became the proprietor of the Nyack Bowling Center until 1966. Bette founded the Max Miller Female Golden Pins, was a major contributor to the March of Dimes and the establishment of Helen Hayes Hospital. She loved garage sales and antiquing, but most of all her family and country.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Colorito (Frank) of West Nyack, Ray Malice of Palmetto, FL, grandchildren, Laurel Sirco, Kimberly and Frank Colorito Jr., Morgan, Jason, Aaron, Brendon, Ryan and Devon Malice, step-children, Pamela Zellers, Jeff and Chrissy Kriessler, 13 great-grandchildren and sisters, Frances Woodworth, Flora McClean and dearest friends, Irene Saccende and Tess Raso.
A memorial service will be held in August in New York and her ashes will be buried in Nova Scotia.
