Zourdos, Harry C.

Harry C. Zourdos, 87, lifetime Bronxville, NY, resident passed into his eternal rest on April 25, 2013, after a valiant battle with Cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Alicia Tucker Zourdos, a sister Angeline Pappas and her husband Peter, a niece, three nephews, a stepson and two step daughters. In WWII Harry served with the 97th infantry division in combat in Germany and was a member of the 387th infintry Army of Occupation in Japan. Harry was four times President of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, New Rochelle, NY. He was a recipient of the St. Paul Medal, the highest civilian honor awarded by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North America. Harry was a past President of The Bronx Chapter of #175, of the order of Ahepa. Harry was two times President of the Westchester Rockland Restaurant Association and a life member of the Board of the New York State Restaurant Association. He was appointed to and served two terms on the Board of the Westchester County Board of Health. Harry owned the Alps Restaurant, Bronxville, now Underhills, for thirty years and was co-owner of Maguires Restaurant, Mamaroneck for thirty years. He was a member of the New York Athletic Club for forty five years. Harry devoted his life to helping others. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday. Services at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, New Rochelle on Monday, April 29 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
