Joyce Danziger, 63, died on April 22, 2013, at New York-Presbyterian Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Joyce began her life as the first child of Samuel Pistone and Marion Landow on August 25, 1949, in Yonkers, New York.
Joyce married Cliff Danziger, in 1969 in Yonkers, NY. They spent time in Idaho, Massachussetts, & Kansas, where Joyce attended and graduated from Washburn Law School. After Joyce graduated law school, the family moved to New York with their two boys, Byron and Elliot. Family life became even busier when Joyce and Cliff had their third child and only daughter, Abigail. Joyce leaves behind a law practice of which she was a founder and partner.
Joyce's love, hobbies, and passions can be summed up in one word—"family." She loved family gatherings and holidays and felt a self-imposed obligation to open her house at these times. Joyce's home became the go-to place for family events, where she would be happily engaged with another favorite hobby, cooking, alongside her family, and one or two of a long line of Great Danes that she raised and adored.
Joyce is also survived by her brother, Dennis Pistone, his wife Nancy, and their two daughters, Kate and Sara, as well as her husband, three children, and her grandson, Samuel. There will be a Memorial Service at the family's home at 14 Barnes Lane in West Harrison, NY, on Sunday, April 28, from 2 until 5 pm, where Joyce's family and friends can gather together and celebrate stories about her life.
