Joanne DiPaolo Moscarello (born 1/11/55) passed from the loving arms of her family into the arms of The Lord on July 1, 2013 at eleven minutes after eleven at the Rosary Hill Hospice in Hawthorne, NY. Joanne fought a long, brave battle against an insidious brain cancer, and her courage was an inspiration to all that knew her. She leaves behind her deeply devoted husband Paul and her beloved children Antonia and Paul. Joanne is also survived by her mother Dolores DiPaolo and brother Gary DiPaolo as well as her loving in-laws Joyce and S. Paul Moscarello. She was predeceased by her father Anthony DiPaolo. Joanne began a career as an elementary school teacher at the Hackley School, became a certified teacher of the blind and visually impaired, then worked for over a decade at the Pocantico Hills School as a kindergarten/first grade teacher until illness forced her into retirement. Joanne was a remarkably talented painter, dressmaker, and musician who could also wallpaper a living room or build a set of cabinets. Joanne particularly loved all the exotic travels with her family and studying art and culture in Italy. She loved all living things and had the prettiest smile for everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Rosary Hill Home 600 Linda Ave. Hawthorne, NY 10532 would be appreciated.
