Sylvester Garrison Obituary
Sylvester "Junior/June" Garrison, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Sound Shore Medical Center. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Sylvester, Sr. and Rev. Irene Garrison. He was raised and educated in Mt. Vernon, and employed by St. Vincent's Hospital, Sarah Lawrence Hospital and the Westchester Medical Center. He was preceded by his wife September 7, 2007, Sarah Garrison. He was the father of Kenny, Kevin, Timothy and Dwayne Garrison; brother of the late Margaret Tolbert, Eliza Garrison, William "Billy" Garrison and Bobby Garrison. Sylvester leaves to mourn sisters, Lona Carmichael, Sylvia Garrison, Queenesther Ford, Betty Ford and Virginia Bryant, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., Friendship Worship Center, 261 Lincoln Ave., Mt. Vernon, NY. Interment Rural Cemetery, White Plains, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday, August 26, 2013, from 4 - 8pm at the Camelot Funeral Home, 174 Stevens Ave., Mount Vernon, NY.
