Rescigno, Ralph J.

Ralph J. Rescigno passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 at White Plains Hospital. He was born August 28, 1930 in the Bronx to the late Julius and Jean Rescigno, and was raised and educated in Port Chester NY. Ralph served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1948 to 1950, the National Guard from 1951 to 1953 and held the rank of Corporal in the Armed Forces from 1953 to 1961. During this time, he was a Tank Commander in the Korean War in 1953. In 1954, he transferred to the Army Reserves until honorably discharged in 1961. His hobbies included many years of coaching Little League. He also crafted miniature furniture, for which he received many awards.

Ralph was a member of the American Society of Hospital Engineers and worked as Director of Engineering for 28 years at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains NY, followed by 18 years at Maryknoll Sisters in Ossining NY.

Ralph is predeceased by his sisters Theresa and Phyllis, and his first wife, Rose. He is the loving father of three wonderful children from that marriage, Michael (Mia), Karen (Bud), and Joann (Michele).

Ralph remarried and is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Arlene, and step-sons Jim and Tony (Danielle). He is the cherished and adored grandfather of Samantha and Jackson, and step-grandfather to Jake, Ty, Haley and Jack.

As part of a large Italian and Greek family, Ralph will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 28 from 5:00-9:00 pm at The Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29 at 9:30 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Port Chester NY. Interment immediately following at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Chester Artificial Kidney Center (WAKC), Dialysis Unit, 234 Tarrytown Rd, Elmsford NY 10523.
