Havriliak, Lawrence

Lawrence Havriliak, 86, a lifelong resident of Spring Valley, NY, passed away on Aug. 25, 2013.

Born on Aug. 25, 1927 in Spring Valley to the late Rev. John and Mary Havriliak, he is survived by his loving wife, June; and his sons, Damian, Mark, and Roman; and 8 grandchildren.

A graduate of Spring Valley HS and American International College, he was a veteran who spent two years in Berlin as a translator in the Army during and after WWII. Larry toured Europe as a tenor with the world-renowned Jaroff Don Cossack Chorus in 1953. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, and gave much of his life to the church as choir director.

Reposing at Sniffen-Sagala Funeral Home, Spring Valley on Thurs., Aug. 29 at 7 PM and Friday, Aug. 30 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM (Panikhida on Friday at 8 PM). Service on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10 AM at St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, Church St., Spring Valley.
