Agnes M. Aliberto, 84, a lifelong resident of Eastchester and Tuckahoe died Thursday after a long illness. Born February 21, 1929, she was the daughter of Angelina and Giacomo Lepore. She married her childhood sweetheart Gil Aliberto on July 5, 1953. Together they raised six children. Retired for many years, she enjoyed life to the fullest and especially enjoyed the times she spent with her family and friends at her summer home in Wildwood, NJ and wintering in Stuart, FL. Mrs. Aliberto was a graduate of Tuckahoe High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Good Counsel College and received her master's degree from Hunter College in New York City. She taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades at the former Assumption School in Tuckahoe for many years, and was a member of the Assumption Church. Along with her loving spouse, Agnes is survived by her children Antoinette (Michael) Martino, Angela (Michael) DiStasi, Agnes Aliberto, Gil (Lori) Aliberto, Jacqueline (the late Louis) Bellantoni; a sister, Antonette Fraioli, 11 grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie Martino, Christine DiStasi, Angela Walter Farrell, Gregory Walter, Nicole, Christopher and Julia Aliberto, Louis, Joseph and Nicholas Bellantoni; and two great-grandchildren, Dashiell and Hunter Farrell. She was predeceased by her daughter Christine Aliberto Walter, her brothers Jack and Fred Lepore and her sisters Dolores Stracuzzi and Jovina Frezza Calabro.
Visitation will be held at THE WESTCHESTER FUERAL HOME, INC., EASTCHESTER on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday at the Assumption Church in Tuckahoe. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Ceremony.
