Carole Anne DeNoyelles, a resident of Pearl River, NY, for 47 years, died peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Tolstoy Foundation RNC in Valley Cottage, NY. She was 69.
Mrs. DeNoyelles was born June 29, 1944, in Newark, NJ, to Albert E. and Gladys S. Hagetter Carpentier. She was educated in Spring Valley, NY, schools and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1962. She worked in Accounts Receivable at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River before becoming a homemaker and full-time mother.
On June 20, 1964, she married Donald D. DeNoyelles at St. Paul's R.C. Church in Congers, NY. She lived in Spring Valley from 1949 to 1964, when she and Mr. DeNoyelles moved to Congers. In 1967, they moved to Pearl River. Mrs. DeNoyelles was a member of the Historical Society of Rockland County and the Haverstraw Brick Museum. She was also an active member of the Pearl River School District PTA while her daughters were enrolled there.
Mrs. DeNoyelles will be remembered for her love for, and devotion to, her family; her sense of humor; and her love for all animals.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Donald D. DeNoyelles of Pearl River; her daughters, Diane Nawoschik and her husband, Rob of Bloomingburg, NY, Jane Anderson and her husband, Jim of Bloomingburg, and Carolyn DeNoyelles Freedman and her husband, Henry Freedman of New City; and her six grandchildren: Doug and Allison Nawoschik, Marty, Ellen and Thomas Anderson, and Matthew Freedman. Mrs. DeNoyelles is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Rooney of Pomona, NY, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Joan Stevensen; her brothers, Eugene and Georges Carpentier; her nieces, Nancy Erskine and Kathleen Shankey; and her nephew, Paul Carpentier.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY. Friends may send memorial donations to a
