SANDIFER, JOHN RICHARD SR., 92, passed away on April 30, 2013.
He is preceded in death by his son, John R. Sandifer Jr.; sisters, Ruby Garrison and Matilda Bradley.
Mr. Sandifer is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Irene Sandifer; his children, Frances Sandifer-Cotton (Greg), JoAnn Sandifer-Shelton, Calvin Ray Sandifer, and Michael Dorsey Sr.; grandchildren, Raymone, Doneta(Will), Monesha, and Calvin Jr; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louvenia Sandifer of Huntsville, AL. A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Sandifer will be 2 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of Mr. Sandifer. His son John was one of my students at the University of Louisville, Speed School of Engineering and I recall attending his services a few years ago.
