Blessed is the servant who loves his brother as much when he is sick and useless as when he is well and can be of service to him. And blessed is he who loves his brother as well when he is afar off as when he is by his side, and who would say nothing behind his back he might not, in love, say before his face. ~St Francis of Assisi

I miss you UT. I hope to live my life to the fullest in the way you did. You have left me with a new attitude toward people and life in general. People loved and respected how awesome of a person you were. There's so much I could say but I've already came to peace with most of it. I love you and you will be a part of me forever.

Tony, I am so glad to have known you. I miss you so much. I miss our conversations about all the silly stuff we both loved like Twilight, American Idol, and Glee! You were so encouraging and always such a positive force in my life. People who didn't even know you would see the things you would write on my page and say what a wonderful person you must be and I always told then, yes, you were a great friend. I am glad to have been your "adpoted niece" and to have known you for the past year and a half. I will miss you dearly. Thank you for the impact you made on my life and on the lives of many others. I'm sorry again that I couldn't get help to you sooner that morning. Love, Lesley.

I only recently had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Tony - what a wonderful man he was - much loved, sweet, funny, hard-working - I admired his commitment to the Louisville community and how involved he was in so many important causes - I hope that we can look back on his many contributions and truly appreciate the loss - it will be felt deeply and for a very long time, for Tony is irreplaceable. The greatest tribute to Tony is not grief - but gratitude.

To Tony's friends and family. I met him two years ago and let me tell you, it has been a blast knowing him. He open his arms and heart to me and had a huge smile on his face. Tony has truly been an inspiration on me because, to be honest, I never knew a stranger who you have never met and become close friends with, within a short time span. He has always been there for me and showed me that there are real true friends out there that will stand behind you 100 percent. I for one, want to say "Thank You" Tony for being such a warm-hearted and loving friend. You have always been someone I could talk to without hesitation. The conversations we've had, the memories we've shared. I will never forget them. You will have a special place in my heart. You will be deeply missed. I'm shocked and sadden by this. I must look at it this way as well. GOD, he takes the best angels first to watch over us. It's difficult to see this, but, we will be reunited one day my friend. I love you always and forever Tony.

We lost OUR Tony. I lost my Tony a friend of 39 years. Louisville's gay community lost a leader. Tony brought us together and focused our resources to help each other and others in need. The list of friends who added their talents to amplify his purpose is long and amazing in its diversity. He was able to reach and help so many.He adored his family.
Some of us have a deep lonely place hard to reach. I wish I had tried harder to help him. All I can do now that is useful is remember his purpose and pain and try to to be an echo of his message. I will miss him to my own end.

You came into my life during the March on Washington for Equal Rights. We hit it off as friends and started talking right away. Had I known our friendship would be cut short so quickly, I would have come to visit you before then. Your dedication, love, humor and strength will always be with me. I miss you already!
