Smith, Cheryl Ann Krausgill  
Smith, Cheryl Ann Krausgill, 67, entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2015. Cheryl was a retired special education teacher and a long time member to Westport Road Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Barbara Krausgill; and sister, Anita Davis. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy Smith Ewing (James) and David Smith (Diana); grandson, Connor Ewing; and granddaughter, Jessie Ewing. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Westport Road Church of Christ. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Any floral donations are encouraged to be sent directly to the church, 4500 Westport Road, Louisville, KY, 40207. Smith, Katherine M., 98, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Louisville, KY, passed away on April 23, 2015 in St. Louis, MO. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John M. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Emma Kaye Smith DVM of St. Louis, MO. Katherine was a longtime resident of Audubon Park and a member of St. Stephens Martyr Church. She will be returned to Louisville to rest beside her husband in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Swearingen, Elizabeth "Sis"  
Swearingen, Elizabeth "Sis", 96, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Sis had a fun loving nature, with boundless enthusiasm, and constant optimism which permeated all aspects of her life. She was an avid bridge player and reader. She was a past member of the "Old Richmond Boat Club and Audubon Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and John Baker, her two brothers, Kenneth and John, Jr. and her beloved husband Ralph "Lefty" Swearingen. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Osborne, her beloved granddaughter, Paula Higdon (Joseph) and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth. Sis wishes to acknowledge her adopted daughters (whose mothers were such wonderful lifelong friends and that she loved so dearly) Dani Boone, Blanche and Sissie Gathof, Teri Hasenour, Bobbie Ann Hudson, Peggy Karem, Joyce King, Cheryl and Sandra Smith, Susan Zix, of Charleston, SC. Also her two God-sons, Walter Grell (Dee) and Eugene Rebham (Carol) of Miami, FL. Funeral service will be noon Monday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's. Memorial contributions may be made to Boys and Girls Haven, 2301 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville, KY, 40205.

Shackleford, Eugene "Gene" Sr., 76, went home to his Lord, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Middlesboro, KY. To Pearl & Mary Jane (Russell) Shackleford. Gene was a retired from Alcoa Aluminum with 24 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry Partin. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Joann (West) Shackleford; his sons, Eugene "Gene" Shackleford Jr. (Sherry), and Tim Shackleford (Beth); five grandchildren, Timmy, Amber, Joe (Alicia), Kaylin and Carroll-Ann; three brothers, Boyd (Doris), Clayton (Sissy) and Bill Shackleford (Nancy); and two sisters, Anna Ruth Miracle (Pete) and Brenda Brunzo (Michael). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Mausoleum.
