Zax, Margaret Harrod  
Zax, Margaret Harrod, 89 of Louisville, passed away April 22, 2015 in Sarasota, Florida. She was a former member of St. Barnabas Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Zax; daughter, Carol Zax Milam; and son, KC Zax, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Joe Zax, Ed Zax (Kim) and his step-daughter Jenna; her grandsons, David Milam and Nicholas Zax; her sister, Marie "Dutchie" Breunig; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her memory to Hosparus of Louisville.

Zeh, Lucy Louise Clapp  
Zeh, Lucy Louise Clapp, On April 24, 2015, Lucy Louise Clapp Zeh of Louisville, KY, entered into eternal rest. She was born on April 10, 1958 in Glastonbury, CT, daughter of the late Charles S. and Mary M. (O'Keefe) Clapp. The family later moved to Newington, CT where Lucy graduated from Newington High School in 1976. She attended the University of Kentucky as an animal science major and was active in the equestrian program. She loved horses and had worked as a tour guide at the Kentucky Horse Park and also at a large Arabian horse farm in Louisville. In 2000, she published a book titled "Etched in Stone: Thoroughbred Memorials" which outlined the history of some notable thoroughbred horses in Kentucky. Lucy earned an Associates degree at Jefferson Community College. She became a physical therapist assistant and worked at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville for many years where she specialized in aquatic therapy. She loved to tell stories of her work with her patients and, as was her nature, gave of herself wholeheartedly to help improve their quality of life. Lucy leaves her brother Charles S. Clapp, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Coventry; her sister, Marcia Smith of Lakewood, NJ; her sister, Debbie Hajek and her husband Mickey of Higganum; her sister, Judy Robertson and her husband Don of New Britain; and her brother, Jeff Clapp and his wife Denise of West Hartland. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Charles III, Cynthia, Ron, Rick, Michael, Heather and Brandi; and 14 great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday May 15, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of service on Friday. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Women and Families and/or KODA. Lucy was a bright light among her family and friends and she will be deeply missed.

Zirnheld, Sylvia Ann  
Zirnheld, Sylvia Ann, 79, of Louisville passed away Monday, April 27, 2015. Sylvia was a woman of strong faith; who loved and served the Lord. She was a caregiver to so many and lived by the phrase, "love your neighbor as yourself". Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she loved dancing, bowling, planning trips, traveling and entertaining family and friends. She worked as a cashier in the retail business for years and enjoyed being a nanny to Nathan and Jake. One of the greatest gifts you can share is the gift of time and Sylvia gave her time willingly to family, friends and strangers. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray Zirnheld, her parents, Lawton and Nettie Sargent, and eight siblings. Sylvia is survived by her children: Margie Aspatore (Joe), Becky (Joe), Rick (Nancy) Ron (Lisa); grandchildren: Kory, Tracy, Liz, Shawn, Jody, Mary, Sam, Cory and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren. She is blessed to have had her Zirnheld family who provided much love and support over the years; she is also survived by many other family members and friends. A Celebration of Sylvia's Life will take place at noon on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 and after 9 a.m. on the day of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or do a good deed in memory of Sylvia.
