Carney Sr., Walter "Teddy"  
Carney, Walter "Teddy" Sr., 66, of Louisville, slipped quietly from this life to the next on Saturday, August 29, 2015 with his loving wife and family by his side. Walter was born on April 18, 1949 in Shaw, MS, to the late Johnny and Marie Carney. He served four years in the USAF, 1970-1974, and was stationed at Grisson Air Force base in Peru Indiana. In 1972, Walter married the love of his life, Sallie Kendrick, and they were blessed with two wonderful children. He graduated from Jefferson Community and Technical College in 1984 with a degree in Plumbing Technology. Walter retired from General Electric (Appliance Park) after 35 years of service and was a member of the American Legion and Forest Baptist Church. Walter enjoyed carpentry, folk art painting and most recently trail riding. Left to cherish Walter's memory is his wife of 43 years, Sallie, children; Donnese (Desmond) and Walter Jr., brothers; John (Lena) and Tommy (Debbie), sisters; Merdis Bell, Renee Pitts and Annie Dixon, a very devoted sister in law, Margaret, devoted niece, Shantell (Reese) and nephew, Marshall, loving sister in laws, Fannie K. Dietrich and Myrtle McCain, also a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by a brother, T.J. Carney. Visitation for Walter will be Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with a private Celebration of Life. Cooper, David D.  
Cooper, David D., 69, of Louisville, passed away suddenly August 28, 2015. Born in Wilmington, PA, he was a retired software consultant and was a founding member of the Kentucky Aviation Historical Society of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his son, Brant D. Cooper. David is survived by his wife, Deborah K. Cooper; daughter, Brittany Jean Cooper (Leo Hussey); brother, Merle Cooper (Arlene); sisters, Ruth Wood (Charles) and Kathy Lane; brother-in-law, Glenn Fellnagle; grandchildren, Tommy Kale Cooper and Zella Katherine Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. His visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2015 with a service immediately following at 7, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Downs, Betty Ann  
Downs, Betty Ann, 80, of Louisville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. Betty was born in Holy cross, KY to her late parents William Ovelee and Mary Pearl Downs. She was retired from General Electric and a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church. Betty was preceded in death by her brother William Ovelee Downs Jr.; and sister, Mary Pitcock. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Anna Clinard, Florence Hagan and Margaret Meredith; brothers, Joseph L. Downs (Bernadine) and Pascal Downs (Rhudell); sister-in-law; Delores Downs; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer their deep appreciation to Hosparus CBS group, Dr. Huber, Dr. Masden and Dr. Pendergast for the care they gave Betty. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outerloop, Louisville, KY, 40219 with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Downs, Mary Bernadette (Coyle)  
Downs, Mary Bernadette (Coyle), 81, of Louisville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 with her family by her side. She was retired from G.E., a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Parents without Partners, The Moose Lodge and the VFW Post in Okolona. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Donald L. Downs. Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Downs (June), Donald J. Downs (Kim), Kenny Downs, Donna M. Casey (Steve), Bobby Downs (Debbie); 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa L. Coyle. The family would like to offer special thanks to Sissy Lehr and Ann Giles for the care they gave Mary. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY, 40219 with burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery. Borden Embry, Joel Talton Sr., 67, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
