Conn, James Gheens  
Conn, James Gheens, 87, passed away June 29, 2016. He was born May 14, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Vanderbilt, he accepted a commission with the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant on a destroyer during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Helen Steverson Conn. James was senior V.P. for Allied Demecq, then the parent company of Maker's Mark bourbon. He is survived by his son, John; and daughter, Jamie; two grandchildren, Parker and Reed. A Mass will be held Saturday July 2, at noon in the Cathedral of the Incarnation with Burial at Calvary cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcome for the Alive Hospice in Nashville. Coombs, June  
Henryville Coombs, June, June Coombs, 87, of Henryville, IN, passed away at 1:35 PM on Monday, June 27, 2016. Born June 15, 1929 in Scott County, Indiana she was the daughter of John Lyles and Fern (Stewart) Lyles. In May of 1951 she married Earl E. Coombs Sr. who preceded her in death on July 18, 1990. She was a 1947 Scottsburg High School graduate. She worked in the Henryville School cafeteria as a lunchroom manager in the 1960's, and then worked in retail at Target formerly known as Arye Way. June was a member of Henryville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved her children and grandchildren. Survivors include, 1 daughter Rebecca S. (Tony) Rucker of Henryville, IN, 3 grandchildren, Tia Marie Laws of Collinsville, AL, Alan Michael Rucker of Morehead, Kentucky, John Edward Rucker of Henryville, IN, 3 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son Earl Edward Coombs Jr. on August 29, 2012. Pastor Gary Cooper will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Henryville United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Mt Zion Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, and after 10:00 AM on Friday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to Christian Academy c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory 209 S. Cote, Bruce Stephen  
61, of Prospect , KY passed away on Wednesday June 15 after a long illness. Bruce was born in Burlington, Vermont. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, a Master of Education from Bowling Green State University and Ph.D. program (ABD) from the University of Minnesota. While at the University of Minnesota, a colleague set him up on a blind date with a student of hers, Beverly Richter, and they were married on May 8th, 1987 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, St. Paul, Minnesota. Bruce and Beverly moved to Louisville in 1989 when Bruce took a job at Brown-Forman. After leaving Brown-Forman in 2009, he spent the rest of his career at Humana. He was predeceased by his mother Nancy Lague, of Burlington, Vermont and two beloved golden retrievers Took and Bean. Surviving him are his loving wife, Beverly (Richter) and his beloved children, Griffin,Katie and Graham. Also surviving him are sisters Arlene Osha of South Burlington, Vermont and Pam Elwert (John) of Cuttingsville, Vermont. Bruce came from modest means and was such a hard worker. He truly believed in the power of education to further your life. He loved skiing, tennis - all kinds of outdoor activities and would never pass up a chance to have an in depth conversation (on a variety of topics) with anyone he could engage. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Whether skiing, hiking, doing a scout project or a home repair project or simply watching sports on TV - they were the people he most enjoyed being with. Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Friday at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation is Friday from 2 PM until time of service. Covington, Larry Wayne  
Covington, Larry Wayne, found peace in the arms of the Lord on June 17, 2016. He was surrounded with the love of his family. The son of the late Christopher and Veda Covington, he is preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, Delbert, Robert, and David Covington; and sisters Margaret Berger, Christine Dukes, Jane Teal, Mazine and Jo Nell Covington. Survivors include his wife Dianna Sharon Covington, daughters, Laura Lynn and Charysse Covington, one grandchild, Matthew Mason, great-grandchildren, Conner, Chris Gabrielle (Flower). The owner of Larry's Heat & AC, Louisville until his retirement, Larry lived in Oldham Co., was a member of the Covington Ridge Baptist Church, a volunteer with the Westport Fire Department, Hospice and several other organizations, always willing to lend a helping hand. In 2015, when he and his wife moved to Mount Dora FL, he continued his volunteer service. Funeral services will be held at Greens Chapel Greenville, KY, on June, 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. CDT (3 pm EST), with interment to follow at Greens Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society (Oldham Co. Division) &/or to Greens Chapel Cemetery Fund, Greenville, KY.
