Chesson, Nina Martin "Sister"  
Chesson, Nina "Sister" Martin, 85, born July 10, 1929 in Louisville, passed away peacefully December 13, 2014 with family members by her side. She resided in Louisville at the time of her death. Her parents, Everett Leon Martin and Nina Redmon Martin, her sister, Peggy Ann Martin Blankenship, and Rev. Dr. Francis Chesson, her husband of 40 years, preceded her in death. Mrs. Chesson leaves behind two sisters, Bettie Jane Martin Wilkie (Lexington, KY) and Patsy Joy Martin Bendall (Will) (Phoenix, AZ). She also leaves 11 nieces and nephews, each of whom consider themselves to be "Aunt Nina's favorite." Larry Wilkie (Jennifer), Kim Wilkie (Donna), Pam Wilkie, Barbara Blankenship Barker, Craig Wilkie (Rita), Bobby Blankenship (Kathy), Cheryl Blankenship Besterman (Rick), Kelly House (Sandy), Leslie House Barlow (Glenn), Jenifer House Wunderlich (Gary ), and Laura House Fittz (Kevin). Family members spent many summers with Aunt Nina and Uncle Francis exploring the beaches of NC, hearing stories of their travels and friends, and especially enjoying Aunt Nina's wonderful sense of humor. Mrs. Chesson graduated with honors from Wake Forest University where she met and married Francis Chesson. She also attended Louisville Baptist Seminary where she earned a degree in Religious Education. Francis served as Baptist minister in Whiteville, NC, Burgaw, NC, Florence, SC, and Camden, AK. He was also as an interim minister in Black Mountain and Weaverville, NC. Nina was an active volunteer providing help and support to each of these congregations alongside her husband. Nina Chesson wrote many years ago, "I need to remember that my Heavenly Father has charted every road ahead for me; and it is good. For the Christian, the way to eternal life with our Lord has been charted. Christ Himself is the way. And He says to His followers, "I go to prepare a place for you; and I will come again to receive you unto myself." (John 14:2-3 ). A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Weaverville. The Rev. Jim McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her honor to the Chesson Memorial Camp Fund at First Baptist Church, PO Box 547, Weaverville, NC, 28787.

Chisholm, Roy Davies  
Chisholm, Roy Davies II, 88, died on December 13, 2014 after an illness. Born in Fort Worth, TX, Roy received his undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston and then a Masters of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Louisville. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. He was a licensed Professional Engineer and retired from the General Electric Company after 40 years of service in its electric range division. He was an active member of the Elfun society, a member of both the National and Kentucky Societies of Professional Engineers and long term member of Christ Church United Methodist. His was the earliest conceptualization of a self-cleaning oven. His invention was originally deemed unworkable, but eventually was taken up by a team of engineers at General Electric who turned his idea into a reality that is known as the General Electric P7 self-cleaning oven. Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years the former Frances Williams, two daughters, Cathy Chance and Claudia Zeckner (Russell), both of Louisville, a son, Dr. Roy Davies Chisholm III (Cindy) of Cumberland, Maryland and two siblings, Richard Chisholm, Ph.D. of Rumney, New Hampshire and Genevieve Tomlinson Watenpaugh of Bellevue, WA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter, three great-grandsons and two stepgreat-grandsons. Visitation will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road, 40207, from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 20. A Memorial Service will follow at noon at the church. The body was cremated and the ashes will be interred at Cave Hill Cemetery. The family requests donations to the church's Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.

Chumbley, Anine Huettig "Honey"  
Chumbley, Anine "Honey" Huettig, 93, of Louisville died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Nazareth Home, Louisville and was born July 23, 1921. Honey was a devout Roman Catholic. She treasured her family and passed along to her children and grandchildren a love of prayer and devotion to Christ. Her strong will and her faith helped her pass into eternal life. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael J. Bodner, who immigrated from Austria to the United States as a boy; and her mother, Katie M. Kuriger Bodner. She was married to the late Conrad E. Huettig, and to their union, two sons were born: Michael Conrad Huettig (Doris Zimlick) and Edwin Joseph Huettig (the late Fran Lang) of Louisville. She later married Gilbert Hurt Chumbley Sr., now deceased. From their union came two children: the Rev. Kenneth L. Chumbley (Penny Gordon), Rector, Christ Episcopal Church, Springfield, MO; and Antoinette Marie Cogan (Kevin D. Cogan) of Louisville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her niece, Statia Scott Dodge (Wayne). Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery immediately after Mass. New Haven Clark, Marie Ice, 86, died Sunday December 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 22, 1928 in Nelson County, a homemaker, Kentucky Colonel, member of American Legion Auxiliary, and lifelong supporter of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wounded Warriors, and Paralyzed Veterans. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Emmanuel Clark; son, Allen Keith Clark; son-in-law, Perry Watson; and three brothers, Eddie Ice, William Mattingly, and Adrian Mattingly. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Ken) Thomas, Brenda Clark, Debbie (Bobby) Clayton, and Kim Clark; six sons, Dale (Brenda) Clark, Dennie Clark, Don (Betty) Clark, Jim (Marsha) Clark, Eddie (Judy) Clark, and Jeff Clark all of Nelson County; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be noon Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Barlow Funeral Home, Bardstown, KY, with burial in Abbey of Gethsemani Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Nichols will officiate. Visitation will be 2 - 8 pm Monday and 9 a.m.- noon Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to American Red Cross.
