Skaggs, Wilma Jean  
Skaggs, Wilma Jean, 81, of Crestwood, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was a member of Full Gospel Mission Church in Louisville. She is preceded in death by her parents , siblings and her husband, Edward Lee Skaggs, Jr.; sons, Joseph Ronald and Steven Paul, and son-in-law, Jeff Hensley. She is survived by her sons, Edward Lee, Darryl, Timmy, Brian and Brad; daughters, Jane Burgin (Robert), Barbara Mudd (Sam), Susan Hensley-Stokes (Jamie); twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the Hosparus staff and Lisa Skinner with Gentiva for their excellent care and service. Funeral Service 1:30pm Sunday at Oldham County Funeral Home, 706 W. Jefferson, LaGrange with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation: 1-8pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville and/or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Slack, Bernice F.  
Slack, Bernice F., 92, of Louisville, passed peacefully on March 22, 2015 at Baptist Health with her family by her side. She was the former Bernice Metcalf and a retired sales associate for Shillitos. She was a devout member for over 40 years at Highview Baptist Church and a member of the "Lotta Chatta Club" since she was in high school. Bernice was an avid golfer, bridge and pinochle player. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Frances Holcomb Metcalf; her husband Earl Holmes Slack; her twin, Bea McRae; brother, Fred Metcalf Jr. and a sister, Rosemary Johnson. Left to cherish her sweet memory are her children, Sherry Small (Larry), Linda Logsdon (Danny), Vicki Cobble (Melvin) and Mark Slack; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with a private interment in Louisville Memorial Garden's West. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highview Baptist Church or Gethsemane Baptist Church. Smith, Christina Maria  
Smith, Christina Maria, 56, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Baptist East Hospital after four days in Hosparus care surrounded by family and friends. Christina was born on December 23, 1958 in Louisville and lived there most of her life. She graduated from Atherton High School and attended the University of Louisville. Christina was the owner of Domain Fabrics and Interiors in St. Mathews for 14 years. She also was in marketing and training at L'Oreal and new business development at Doe-Anderson. Throughout her life, Christina was an advocate of causes that supported youth , including Toys For Tots and CASA. But her greatest passion was her children from whom she derived immeasurable joy. Christina was the daughter of the late Mary McCarthy Smith and the late George Matt Smith. She is survived by her children, Drew Tennant of Louisville and Olivia Tennant of Ohio, two sisters, Victoria Floyd and Sharon (James Mauch) Smith of Louisville, her brother Matt Smith of Louisville, seven nieces and nephews, Leslie (David) Word, Meghan (Todd) Frakes, Justin Floyd, Taylor Mauch, Alexandra Briggs, Julia Briggs and Hilary Briggs, as well as a great-niece, Hadley, a great-nephew on the way, and a dear friend, Chris Ewing. Christina's broad family also included many loving friends and honorary nieces and nephews whose lives she touched and influenced greatly. Her vibrant spirit was contagious and her exuberant laugh lifted anyone who met her. Christina's compassion also extended to her love of animals which included many rescues. Funeral services for Christina, led by Pastor Steve Jester, will be Saturday, March 21, 2015, 10 am EST at Second Presbyterian Church where Christina was a member. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4-8 pm at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville. Smith, David W. Sr., 71, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Louisville, KY to Joseph Colbert and Anna Mae (Stack) Smith Sr. David was a retired Mechanic at National Linen and a member of Teamsters Local #783. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joseph C. Smith Jr. Survivors include his sons, David W. Smith (Faith) and Paul B.
