Abell SCN, Sister Sara Ann  
Abell, Sister Sara Ann Abell, SCN, 102, a native of Leonardtown, MD, died at Nazareth Home, Louisville, on January 24, 2015. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 84 years. Sister served in Kentucky, Arkansas, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee and Maryland as teacher, principal and librarian in both elementary and secondary education, in personal family service, Social Service and Volunteer Ministry for 65 years. In Louisville Sister has been a resident at both Maria Hall and Nazareth Home since August, 1998, serving in the Apostolate of Prayer. Survivors include one sister, Loretta (Tiny) Taylor of St. Mary's City, MD and her religious community. Sister's two sisters, Sisters Alberta Abell and Pauline Maria Abell preceded her in death. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 and after 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky. There will be a Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY. Memorials may be made to Office of Congregational Advancement, P.O. Box 9, Nazareth, KY 40048.

Aigner, Ruthjeanne  
Jeffersonville Aigner, Ruthjeanne, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. A memorial service for Ruthjeanne Aigner will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 5:30 PM with visitation from 2-5 PM at Scott funeral home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy, Jeffersonville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, D.G. and Melvina Carr; her husband of 52 years, Emerson "Ump" Aigner, and her brother, Bud Carr. She is survived by 2 nieces, Donna Edwards and Barbie Hartness; 8 great-nieces and nephews; one great- great niece; and one great- great nephew; cousins Cathy Magnus, Karen Eaker, Patty Barron, Janet Scwartz; 10 second cousins, and 7 third cousins; her dear friends, Nancy Holland, Vicki O'Bannon, Sue Cox and Dennis Leuthart; and her beloved dog Abby. Born December 27,1915 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she lived a full and complete life. She was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Purdue University in 1938. She worked for Colgate as their Benefits Coordinator for 32 years. She was gifted with many talents. She was an avid golfer and was known and loved for her quick wit and fun-loving personality. She was a true sports fan but her Purdue team held a special place in her heart. She had a wide range of friends of all ages and will be missed by those who know and love her. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service for will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. with visitation from 2-5 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy, Jeffersonville.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Allen; daughters, Jacquelyn Smith (Bryon), and Deanna Williams (Mark); grandsons, Stephen, Bradley and Christopher Williams, David, and Benjamin Smith; sister, Joy Vastbinder (Earl), and two nieces. Her funeral is noon Wednesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is 4-8pm Tuesday
