First SGt. Albert L. (Retired) Cotton

BARDSTOWN - Cotton, 1st Sgt. (Retired) Albert L., 78, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Jewish Hospital.

He was born August 12, 1934 in Bardstown. He was retired from the Army and from Jim Beam's Distillery. He was an Army veteran, a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and St. Monica Parrish Council, American Legion Post 167 and Veterans of the Foreign War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Bill Cotton; three brothers, William Cotton, Jasper Cotton and Jesse Cotton; and one sister, Margaret Cotton-Wickliffe.

He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Cotton Porter, of Bardstown, Rosemary Cotton Dishman, of Detroit, MI and Roxie Ann Cotton Harris, of Los Angeles, CA; three brothers, Harry S. (Fern) Cotton, of Newbern, NC, James C. Cotton, of Bardstown and Charles P. (Liz) Cotton, of Chicago, IL and host of nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Hopper will officiate. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 - 10:15 a.m. Monday at Barlow Funeral Home.
