Amanda Helen Hardy Browning

BROWNING, AMANDA HELEN HARDY, 88, died May 10, 2014.

She was born June 8, 1925, in Louisville, to Marshall Burwell Hardy and Amanda Fitch Hardy.

She graduated from the Louisville Collegiate School and the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in Kentucky where she served as a newsletter editor and Patriotic Service chairperson. She also was a volunteer for many years in the Goodwill Adult Learning Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Iley Baker Browning Jr. and her brother, Marshall Burwell Hardy Jr.

She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Marshall Hardy, Henry Hardy (Robbie), Whitney Hardy de Courcel (Jerome), Tabb Hardy (Sue), Anne Hardy Shermyen (John) and Kate Hardy Failing (James), her sister-in-law, Whitney K. Hardy; and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 pm. Monday at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 pm. Monday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
