PARRISH, BERNIECE COOMER, was born in Chicago, IL on January 23, 1927 to Amos and Milda Baker Coomer.She passed away January 15, 2013.
The family moved to Columbia, Adair Co., KY when she was a small child and moved to Louisville in 1948.
She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, the Falls City Model A Ford Club and was retired from Sears.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kasey Savanah Parrish; and sisters, Aline Coomer, Ernestine Morris, Avon Wroble and Patricia Mayfield; and a nephew Jason Cravens.
After retiring she and John traveled to 48 states, Canada and Mexico. They enjoyed seeing the country and making new friends. Berniece was a loving wife, mother and friend to many and known as Aunt Bea to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John D. Parrish; sons, John D., Jr. (Selina) and Kevin M. Parrish (Debbie); granddaughter, Kristin Worthen (Jeff); great-granddaughter, Harper Elaine Worthen; sister, Sue Wadas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Michael Needleman and staff and Dr. John Horlander for their interest, concern and care.
Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Hwy. with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday.
