Betty Jo Pile

SMITHFIELD - Pile, Betty Jo, 82, passed away on September 24, 2013 at her daughter's residence in Smithfield.

She was born on May 11, 1931 in Chickasha, OK, to the late William Oscar and Susie Johnson Bounds.

Betty was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress who delighted in crafting beautiful creations of clothing. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. In her earlier years Betty was a leader of the Girl Scouts of America, a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the current events club of Jeffersontown.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her beloved children, Nancy Pile Laney and her husband, Michael of Smithfield, KY, and William Pile and his wife, Laura Rickard of Durango, CO; and her sister, Ardia Faye Bingham and her husband, L.C. of Wayne, OK; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents; and her husband, Donald E. Pile.

Cremation was chosen, a memorial service is planned for spring.
