Clarence James Rosene

ROSENE, CLARENCE "JIM" JAMES, was born on June 7, 1929 in Cherokee. IA. He passed away on February 18, 2014 in Terre Haute, IN.

He attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids IA, where he met his wife, Dorothy Jeanne Moorhead. They were married September 2, 1951. He also attended the University of Iowa, where he graduated in 1955. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

In his professional life, he was an analytical chemist in Louisville. In his personal life, he was a musician, photographer, writer and volunteer in his community. He was a founding member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Louisville, where he remained an active member until he moved to West Terre Haute in 2011. He was a reader for the Kentucky School for the Blind, recording many science text books. His generosity and unfailing, positive attitude was an inspiration for all those who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Janette, and his wife Jeanne of 58 years.

He is survived by his son John and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Rosene of West Terre Haute; daughter Nancy and son-in-law Fred E Coy III of Yorktown, VA; and his grandchildren Dorothy Rosene of Gainesville, FL, Peter Rosene of Louisville, David Coy (Richi Meston-Coy) of Orlando, FL and Eric Coy (Anna Coy) of Yorktown.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hux Cancer Center in Terre Haute or John Knox Presbyterian Church in Louisville. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
