Deborah Phenneger Schneider

SCHNEIDER, DEBORAH PHENNEGER, 62, of Louisville, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Hospice Center, Lexington.

She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Howard Phenneger and Dorothy Delinski Phenneger.

Debbie graduated cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She remained a life-long avid UK sports fan and supporter. She worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Louisville for many years.

Debbie was a member of Church of the Epiphany, Lifetime member of the UK Alumni Association and Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 1170, Middletown. She was an active member of the Pinehurst Green Homeowners Association, where she was formerly on the Board of Directors.

She is survived by her son, Austin Lee Schneider, and his wife, Michelle of Louisville; grandchildren, Christian, Conner and Coleton Cotton; two sisters, Donna M. O'Bryan (David) and Diane P. Bennett (Pete), both of Lexington. She is also survived by nephews, Michael O'Bryan, Christopher (Jacqueline) O'Bryan, Josh and Ryan Bennett; dear niece, Dr. Lynne O. Simms (John); great-nieces, McCain and Lucy Simms and Lauren O'Bryan, along with great-nephews, John Martin Simms and Matthew, Will, Nate and Darren O'Bryan.

The family would like to express their very special thanks for the kind and loving care at Hospice of the Bluegrass, Hosparus of Louisville, Home Instead, and to Debbie's wonderful neighbors and friends who were so supportive.

Her funeral Mass will be at noon Monday, December 10, 2012 at Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Pearson Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road. Private burial will take place at a later date in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Hosparus of Louisville or the KY Humane Society.
