Delmar Kenneth Tucker

TUCKER, DELMAR KENNETH died unexpectedly Saturday, February 16, 2013, with his son at his side.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jane Wittig Tucker.

Mr. Tucker will be greatly missed by his children, Kathleen Tucker Mandlehr (Michael), Delmar Kenneth Tucker Jr., Lynn Marie Tucker Weber and Barbara Ann Tucker. He was an attentive and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Mandlehr Messier (Fernando), Sarah Jane Mandlehr Dufour (David), Joseph Tucker Mandlehr, Lindsay Marie Tucker, Michael Kenneth Tucker, Lillian Tucker Weber and Emma Bei Tucker; as well as two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Kathleen Dufour and Thomas Ernesto Messier.

Del Tucker served during World War II in the United States Army, was an engineer by profession (Speed School of Engineering), a Rotarian, a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish, a volunteer for SPAVA (Society for the Prevention of Aggressiveness and Violence among Adolescents) and a gentleman always. He lived in many places across the world, but his home was always Louisville. He was blessed with many wonderful friends, including Mrs. Joy Baron.

Friends may pay their respects 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. The family requests no flowers. Tax deductible memorial gifts may be made to SPAVA, PO Box 22067, Louisville, KY, 40252.
