Gerald "Gerry" Ades

ADES, GERALD "GERRY," 87, died Saturday, January 12, 2013.

He was World War II Navy veteran, a graduate of Ohio State University and it's alumni association. A former owner of Frisch's Big Boy, Empire Scrap Company and Bluegrass Travel. He was a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lauren Ruth Pomerance.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Ades; daughters, Suzanne Ades Pomerance, Bettye Grove (John) of Birmingham, AL, and Cheryl Ades; sister, Sonya Sholem (Mike) of Champaign, IL; and two grandsons, Evan Pomerance and Jay Grove.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Clingman Unit at the Episcopal Church Home and Hosparus for their kind devotion and care given to Mr. Ades.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Herman Meyer & Son, 1338 Ellison Avenue, with burial to follow in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon on Tuesday.
