Gerard James "Jerry" Cripe

CRIPE, GERARD JAMES "JERRY," 87, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2013.

He was born July 15, 1926, the son of the late Harold Andrew Cripe and Mary Nettie Cissell Cripe. Jerry was an employee for General Electric for over 35 years in the data processing department.

He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany and a former member of Knights of Columbus Assumption Council #4473. He was a KY Colonel, an Army veteran having served during World War II and was an avid golfer and member of Seneca Golf Course.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Cecil Cripe.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Jean (Miller) Cripe; children, Barbara Calhoun (Gil), Jim (Margie), Stuart (Debbie), Richard (Denise), Robert (Elaine), Brian Cripe and Donna Lampton (Paul); 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday at Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville.
