ALLGEIER, HENRY F. "BUD," 90, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013.
Bud was a retired salesman for the former United Furniture Company and Crossroads Furniture, where he had a combined total of 42 years of service, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church since 1956, a life member of the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council #4473 and former chaplain of the American Legion Highland Post 201. He had also retired from Funeral Auto Company as a driver. Bud was a member of the 338th Engineers Regiment during World War II
and was on the unit's reunion committee where he served as honorary chaplain.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry N. and Anna Marie Allgeier; a brother, John Allgeier; sister-in-law, June C. Allgeier; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Potts Bischoff and Byron Lusby.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Thelma Rose Head Allgeier; daughter, Lynn Ann Sarratt (Ronald); granddaughters, Jennifer Powell (Jamie) and Rebecca Mallory (Corey); sisters, Rita Bischoff, Catherine Lusby and Shirley Latimer (Junie); brothers, Gene Allgeier, Jimmy Allgeier (Betty) and Norman Allgeier (Bobbie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
