James F. "Barrel" Sears

NEW ALBANY - Sears, James F. "Barrel," 90, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

He was a native of New Albany and was an Army veteran having served in Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Mr. Sears was a member of the DePauw Lodge #338 F&AM Masonic Lodge, the Elks Club #270 in New Albany. He was retired after 33 years. of service from the General Electric Corp. in Louisville, KY.

He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Doris J. Sears New Albany, IN; daughter, Michelle Becker (Ron), Santa Ana, CA; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes (1119 E. Market St., New Albany, IN). His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Market Street Chapel. Interment: SCI-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
