James Ralph "Jim" Flowers

FLOWERS, JAMES "JIM" RALPH, 72, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Cumberland County, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Mary and Elizabeth's Hospital.

He was born on Thursday, June 13, 1940, the son of Harvey and Bessie Flowers. He was employed by Enterprise Car Rental Company. Jim was a Christian by faith. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and long time love and companion, Patricia (Patti) Smith. Jim was an amazing man and will be dearly missed by all his Louisville family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Bercie and Drucilla Flowers; his son, Ricky Flowers; and siblings, Junior Flowers, Ida Belle Watkins and Gwendolyn Grider.

His survivors include sisters, Raye Brown and Joyce Kerr; daughters, Patricia (Bobby Joe) Davidson and Patty (Ricky) Arms; stepdaughters, Bonnie Decola and Connie (Joseph) Lucas; grandchildren, Jaime (Joey) Webb, Allison (Freddie) Shaw, Lucas and William Arms; and great-grandchildren, Adam and Evan Shaw; step-grandchildren, Amanda Lucas, Joey Lucas and Roger Decola; step-great-grandchild, Emily; companion, Patricia (Patti) Smith; and extended family, Todd (Geri, Alicia, and Andrew) Cauley and Scott (Stephanie and Peyton) Smith.

Jim was laid to rest at The Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Friday, May 31, 2013 in Bow, KY. A memorial service will be held at the Pleasure Valley Lions Club, 6000 Lions Arms Drive, Louisville, KY, 40216 (at Cane Run and Terry Road) on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3-5 p.m.
