SMITH, JERRY L., 76, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
Jerry retired after 32 years of service with Lucent Technologies, formally AT&T and South Central Bell. He was a founding member of Middletown Volunteer Fire Department, where he held many positions throughout his 25 years of service. Jerry's most beloved position of the fire department was chairman of Middletown's efforts for The Crusade for Children for 7 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma J. Rohleder Smith; sons, Scott (Gale), Keith (Tammy) and Chad Smith; grandchildren, Austin, Salem, Tyler, Aaron, Justin and Caleb.
The family will receive visitors from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Middletown Christian Church, 500 N. Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY, with service following at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Middletown Historic Cemetery.
