Capt. John Francis Morrissey

MORRISSEY, JOHN FRANCIS, (CAPT., RET.) Born in Waterford, New York on December 4, 1918, our father passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 94 on September 23, 2013.

He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years. He is survived by his son, John A. Morrissey; and daughter, Joy Cornette (Jeff).

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1939 and was a highly decorated World War II veteran. Our father served in the Constabulary in Germany immediately after the war where he met our mother who was teaching in the first American schools there. After retiring from the Army, our father went to work for Citizen's Fidelity Bank in their insurance office. After retiring from the bank, he and our mother enjoyed traveling to Europe. He was a long time member of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church and was a Mason.

His funeral service will be noon Monday September 30, 2013 at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
