Joseph P. Peplinski

PEPLINSKI, JOSEPH P., 82, entered eternal rest on March 9, 2013 in Louisville.

He was born in Leelanau County, MI, to Theodore and Catherine (Mikowski) Peplinski and was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School and Northwestern Michigan College. Joe was an active member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and the Federated Polish Home in Lansing, MI and the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Louisville.

Joe was a USAF Korean War veteran and a life member of the VFW. He retired from General Motors in 1985. After retirement, Joe volunteered at museums, garden projects, food banks and soup kitchens.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years Esther (Gajewski); brothers, Stephen and Leon; and sisters, Alice and Patricia.

Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph T. Peplinski of Rochester Hills, MI and Lee S. Peplinski of Louisville; two grandchildren, Alicia and Peter; and two sisters, Regina Klonowski and Adeline Neil.

The family will receive visitors at the Ratterman Brothers East Louisville Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road on March 19, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. The rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Mass will be on March 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, Louisville. Joe will be interned in Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing, MI.
