ULMER, KENNETH JAMES, 90, Louisville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
He was born in Louisville on October 19, 1923 to the late Christine and Roy Ulmer. He was a retired Designer Draftsman for General Electric, served in the Marine Corps during World War II
in the Pacific Theater, was a member of the R.C.R.C. Club, Co- Founder of the 1st Radio Controlled Airplane Club in Louisville, former motion picture projectionist at the old East Drive-In and the old Shawnee Theater, and an avid model airplane collector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Steven Ulmer; and brother, Lee Ulmer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Peggy Lyle Ulmer; children, Pat Cline (Lynn), Mike Ulmer( Shelia), Larry Ulmer (Debbie), Theresa Coomer (Jim), Christi Ulmer; a sister, Anita Nieder; grandchildren, Toni Renfro, John Cline, Ryan Ulmer, Christopher Ulmer, Matthew Coomer, and Amanda Coomer; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Alex and Catie.
His funeral will be at noon on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be to 2-8 p.m. Thursday.
