HARVIN, MARGARET PLEUNE, died Sunday March 3, 2013.
Born in Paducah, KY, she came with her family to Louisville when she was two years old. She was a member of The Woman's Club of Louisville, The Louisville Boat Club, and a former board member and past president of the board of The Cabbage Patch. She was a retired social worker and a lifelong member of Highland Presbyterian Church where her father, Dr. Peter H. Pleune, had formerly been the minister for 27 years. At her church, she was an elder, a former Sunday School teacher, a Stephen Minister, Circle leader and president of the Women of the Church organization.
She graduated from Atherton High School and the Women's College of Brenau University, Gainesville, GA., where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William M. Harvin, a Louisville attorney.
She is survivied by two daughters, Nora H. "Noni" Buchanan (William), Madison, MS and Marilyn H. Harkrider (Jim), Kingwood, TX; four grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan (Amanda), Brian Buchanan, Jamison Whittaker (Lioane) and Brittany Whittaker-Franey (Craig); five great grandchildren, and her brother-in-law and sisiter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Richard L. Harvin (Libby).
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Presbyterian Church 1011 Cherokee Road with visitation to follow at church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pearson's.
