BROWN-ANDERSON, MARILYN D.M.D., passed away April 1, 2013.
She was a renowned local dentist who had over 22 years of private dental practice. She also worked in the public health sector at Park DuValle Community Health Center and Louisville Department of Corrections. Dr. Brown-Anderson was also a musician and had served at several churches including "N" Street Baptist, Southern Star Baptist, Elim Baptist, Mount Olive Baptist, Greater Good Hope Baptist and Shiloh Baptist, where she was a member, and also Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. For the last nine years she was Minister of Music at First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. She was a Certified Aqua Fitness Instructor and a Gratis Faculty member of both the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. Professional affiliations include The American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, Louisville Dental Society, Kentucky Public Health Association and Aqua Exercise Association.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin D. Anderson; and siblings, Dr. Beatrice S. Brown and Rev. Rickie Brown (Virginia).
Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, 3601 Virginia Ave. Funeral services: 11a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Louisville Cemetery. Arrangements by G.C. Williams Funeral Home.
