MILLER, PERRY R. "PR," 88, of Louisville, passed away November 12, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones.
Perry was a native of Louisville, a graduate of Louisville Male High School, attended Centre College, and a graduate of the University of Louisville.
He was a Marine veteran of World War II
and was a Purple Heart
recipient. Perry was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a lifelong member of the Louisville Boat Club. Playing tennis, watching sports, and caring for his family were a few of his passions.
Perry served as commissioner of Financial Institutions during the Wendell Ford administration. After 15 years of public service in the Commonwealth of KY, he retired.
Perry was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Bertie Clark Miller.
Survivors include his children, Jean House, James Miller and Tom Miller; nephew Clark Watts; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Perry's life will be held at Mick Tarullo's home Saturday, starting at 12:30 p.m. A private burial will be held in Cave Hill Cemetery.
