Thomas Owens Biddle

BIDDLE, THOMAS OWENS, 70, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East after a prolonged illness with his wife and family by his side.

He graduated from Eastern High School in 1959 then attended Western Kentucky University and graduated from Southern Illinois University with a master's degree. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959-1962 and was a member of Fraternal Order of Underwater Swimmers School.

Mr. Biddle worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken and became a franchisee. He enjoyed UK sports, was an avid reader and was a wonderful story teller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest C. and Mary Biddle; and a brother, William Biddle.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Sohm Biddle; daughter, Andrea Troutman (Tim), of Fayetteville, TN; sisters-in-law, Sara Terrell (Tom Head), Mary Sohm (Tom Givens) and Margaret Johnston (Ron); nieces, Jennifer Bowman (John), Heather Richter (Karl), Natalie Johnston and Kate Stevenson (Casey); nephews, Dr. Michael Biddle (Lisa) and Brandon Terrell (Christina); and several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Biddle's family would like to thank the nursing staff at Baptist Hospital East, especially Beth Fangman for their care.

His memorial service will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at Ratterman's 3711 Lexington Road with visitation noon until 2 p.m.
