Willard Gerald Collett "Jerry" Miller

MILLER, WILLARD GERALD COLLETT "JERRY," 64, passed away August 11, 2013 in Red Bluff, CA.

Our beloved Jerry was born October 2, 1948 in Ashland, OR. Jerry graduated from Crater High School, Central Point, OR in 1966. He received a BS in business from Southern Oregon College in 1970 and served two years in the Army.

Jerry was married to Judy Armstrong for 10 years. They had three children, Stephanie Christine Bairey (Peter), Andrea Michelle Miller and Benjamin Gerald Miller, all of Portland, OR.

After his divorce, Jerry was transferred to Louisville in 1978. On August 8, 1980, Jerry married Rose Darlyne White in Lexington, KY. She has three children, Kelly Lee Raque, Matthew Thomas White (Antonia) and Andrew Paul White (Misty). There are 11 grandchildren, all of Louisville. Jerry dearly loved his family and the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Darlyne; his six children and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, John Hansen Miller (Karen), of Red Bluff, William Taylor Miller (Dolly), of Running Springs, CA and Paul Thomas Miller (Caryl), of Australia; eight nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

Jerry began his career with Chevron Corporation in 1970 on the West Coast. In 1978 he was transferred to Louisville. In 1994 he returned to the West Coast and retired as a wholesale representative in 2006 from Chevron. In 2009 Jerry and Darlyne relocated to Louisville. He was working for Wheeler Logging as safety director in Red Bluff at the time of his death.

Jerry and Darlyne were members of First Christian Church in Red Bluff. Jerry served as an elder and adult Sunday School teacher, while living there. He enjoyed his family, golf, traveling, people and was an avid reader. Jerry was well-liked and respected by all in everything he did.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy., in the Fireside Room. A reception for family and friends will be held after the memorial at Canterbury Place Club House, 1005 Eastbridge Court, Louisville.
