James Thompson Obituary
James "Handsome Jimmy" Thompson, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 9, 1963 to the late Leon and Shirley Thompson. He was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and was baptized at Southeast Christian Church. He was a radio personality for Louisville Sports Buzz where he interviewed University of Louisville players and was a strengthening coach for the University of Louisville.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Thompson; children, Lisa Marie Thompson, Beau Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Brian Thompson, J.T. Thompson; step-children, Adam Payton and Shelby Penick; grandchildren, Jailyn, Brian Jr., Mason and Bryce; a brother, Doug Thompson (Kathy); and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial in Bell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-2 on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the family.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Handsome Jimmy. He was loved and admired throughout our U of L community. As a former U of L basketball player, I will surely miss his enthusiasm and friendship.
