Imogene McElroy Obituary
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix McElroy Jr.; and daughter, Debbi McElroy.
Survivors: children, Folasade Oladele, Felix T. R. McElroy III (Nancy), Frederick Lawrence McElroy (Galelyn), Donna Maria McElroy and Kirk Norval McElroy (Chandra); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends all over the world.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, November 19, 2011, with service to follow at Hathaway & Clark Funeral Home, Inc., 2718 Virginia Ave. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Imogene and I met at Naval Ordnance Station more than 40 years ago and we remained friends thereafter. She was such a treasure to me and I am so sorry that we will not get together again on this side of Heaven. But praise the Lord, we will meet there. i love her and will truly miss spending time with her when I next go to Louisville. In the bosom of the Father--what a place to be!!!

Mrs. McElroy valued intelligence and education highly. She was an avid reader, a sharp intellect and thinker. Through these and other humane qualities, which she imparted to her family,she made her mark on our community, and left a legacy. She will be missed by many.

She worked at NOSL. I knew her to be an example to those at NOSL that knew her. And she had a keen since of timing when she was showing her sense of humor. Our community needs people like her in these times and in all times.
