To the family of Chris,
I have not seen Chris is many many years - since our highschool days. We were in 2 plays together - Annie Get Your Gun and South Pacific. Chris and I became fast friends. We shared some great memories before our choices took us in opposite directions ..mine away from Louisville. But I always remembered him and how joy-filled he was. Wow --what a surprise to learn of his passing. I am so sorry for your loss; there is truly a void here that over time will fill but oh so slowly. Go gently. I am confident you are grateful for the time you had together. Tina

Ann and Scott -

I was just shocked when I saw Chris's name in the obituary. I always asked Ann how he was doing and knew he had gone back to the hospital, but I just didn't expect this. Scott, I don't know you, but enjoy the friendship I have with your wife, Ann meeting once a month with our Mom's Group. I am so sorry that you, Ann and the family have to experience another loss in your lives. Scott, I am so glad that you were able to spend such a close time with your brother as he was going through his treatments.

Now Ann and Scott your precious Andrew will have another family member to prepare where you will join them again. I'm sure there will be extra beautiful gardens with Chris's help and interesting music being played with Andrew's help.

My thoughts and prayers will be with Chris's family and Scott and Ann as you climb up that ladder of grief.

Ann, I am so sorry for your loss. Chris was a wonderful man, and I will never forget his generous spirit. I'll never forget him happening along when I had run out of gas in Cherokee Park with a baby and a toddler! He must have been a wonderful father. I remember how excited he was when I was pregnant with Cheryl and still at school at Bellarmine--he kept wanting to feel her move! The world is a better place and I am a better person having known him. You and the girls will be in my thoughts and prayers, especially over these next few difficult days.

I’ve been reminiscing about all the fun we had as kids fishing at the Ehrler Dairy farm and how Chris chased the geese, the early days working at Pat’s Footlong Hotdogs in the Midway when Chris and I worked all day together trading with the Corn Dog booth behind us, mowing Gramps lawn, picking tomatoes from his garden, and sitting in the swing at night singing “Bat, bat come under my hat and I’ll give you a piece of bacon!” Those were the days! I am so sorry that my dear cousin is gone now, but I take great comfort in the thought that I know I will see him again someday in heaven.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5,6

Dear Ann, I am praying for you, Katie and Maggie during this difficult time. My deepest sympathy to all of you. God bless you all,

I'm so sorry, Ann, Jim and everyone else in the Ising and Gerber families. Chris rescued what had to have been the most wretched property in my neighborhood and turned it into a landscaping showplace. I will always think of Chris and the way he laughed at the challenges my wife and I posed for him whenever I wander through my yard. May there be verdant gardens for you in heaven, my man.
