LANESVILLE - Gibson, Barbara Cole, 60, passed away on October 21, 2013 at her home in Lanesville, IN, after courageously battling cancer for over six years. Her husband, Sam, and her two sons, Shane and Sean, were at her side when she died.

She was the daughter of Truman and Helen Cole (deceased).

She is survived by her husband, Sam; son, Shane (wife, Shannon), son, Sean (wife, Julie), brother, Ronnie Cole (wife, Gloria); and her grandchildren, Keeton, Crew, Asher, Will, and Nora.

Barbara was a loving wife, proud mother and doting grandmother. She loved the outdoors and bike rides. She especially enjoyed spending time in Florida and watching her grandkids' sporting events.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from noon - 8 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, (1119 East Market Street), New Albany, IN. A Memorial Service will be held at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

The family is appreciative of the support and care provided by Hosparus (624 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN, 47150) and would recommend donations in Barbara's honor to please be forwarded to them to continue their outstanding service to those dealing with end of life. Barbara was also fond of sea turtles. Donations in her honor can be made to the Sea Turtle Conservancy at conserveturtles.org.
