CORYDON - Brown, Basil F. "Brownie," 93, of Corydon, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at his home with his loving wife of 65 years by his side.

He was born October 17, 1919, in Crawford County, to the late Seldon C. and Sylvia Goodson Brown. He was retired from E.I. Dupont Chemical Company in Louisville, was an active member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon, the Milltown Masonic Lodge #661, the Old Capitol Order of Eastern Star #467, the Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Barbara Ann Hallmark; and two brothers, Nolan and Robert G. Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Olive Marie Byrd Brown; his sons, Anthony Brown (Mavis) of English and Carey Brown (Susie) of Georgetown; his sister, Wilma Jean Sullivan of English; his grandchildren, Kris, Ryan, and Tyler Brown and Melanie Brown-Partin; his great-grandchildren, Ariana and Megan Partin and Nicholas and Alexandria Brown and Cosette Brown; and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Andy Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in El Bethel Cemetery near Marengo. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Old Capitol United Methodist Church.
